SBI VC Trade, a Japanese financial company specializing in cryptocurrency, will receive the assets of the hacked cryptocurrency exchange, DMM Bitcoin, and customer accounts are expected to be ready by March next year.
SBI stated in a statement that it has agreed to receive all DMM customer accounts and assets, which will be migrated to SBI on March 8, 2025.
The company stated that DMM customers do not need to open a new account at SBI, as SBI will automatically create an account for the transferred DMM users.
Earlier this month, DMM Bitcoin announced that due to the inability to recover from the May cryptocurrency wallet hack event, which resulted in the theft of $320 million, DMM decided to liquidate and transfer its customers to SBI.
